The Hanson House Bed and Breakfast is more than just a place to stay. You will be treated like friends as you share our 1880's Victorian home. You will think you have taken a step back into the past as your enjoy ornately carved woodwork and staircase, leaded and stained glass beveled windows, three carved fireplaces with Roman tile, and decorative 1882 hand painted murals, depicting scenes of the Danish Countryside. A lumber baron's gift to his wife, our Victorian home still retains it's original grandeur. There are four guest rooms [two with private baths], a Bridal Suite, period furnishings, and a Victorian turret. Relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere and home cooked breakfasts. We are one and a half miles from I-75, and open year around. Reservations are suggested. |

The AuSable and Manistee Rivers are close by, famous for trout fishing and canoeing, with many lakes nearby for swimming and boating. Golf, in the summer and in the winter downhill and cross country skiing awaits you. Three blocks from The Hanson House is The Icehouse Quilt Shop, selected as one of the top ten quilt shops in North America. Grayling even has a 1950's soda fountain, along with other unique shops. Whether you want to relax at the Hanson House location or take part in the area activities, you are sure to enjoy your "Escape to the North" in any season, for any reason.
Our check-in time is 4:00pm, and check out time is 11:00am. Additionally, please note that The Hanson House is a smoke-free environment, and that each room has one queen sized bed for two people. A delicious breakfast will be served each morning.
